In brief

  • Watch EY World Entrepreneur Of  The Year 2021 live on cnbc.com/weoy on 10 June.

Entrepreneurs lead us into the future and are key for our post-COVID-19 recovery around the world. We admire them and depend on their innovations for economic growth and global positive change, but how often can we celebrate them? Not as often as we would like. That’s why every year, EY holds the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ awards. The awards program was founded 35-years ago in the US. The now global awards program is in over 60 countries and more than 145 cities across the world. It has grown to become the most elite competition for competitions in the world.

Selecting the winner is no easy task. EY and its panel of judges must consider the varying metrics for success in different countries and have identified six criteria for determining which entrepreneurs have built businesses that create long-term value.

What are those six criteria for EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year™ ?

  1. Entrepreneurial spirit

  2. Purpose-driven leadership

  3. Innovation

  4. Value creation

  5. National and global impact

  6. Strategic direction

Who is on the diverse panel of independent judges?

Meet EY’s global group of distinguished judges (many of whom have participated in previous EY Entrepreneur Of The Year programs):
